Keep Radio 106.3 FM Weekend Sports Preview 09/10/03/2024:

Keep Radio 106.3 FM Local Sports Bulletin 5 40 pm on Robbie Mott’s Drive Time afternoon show, Monday & Friday:

Weymouth head to Parkside to play Aveley for a National League South fixture. The Millers are currently in 9th place in the league table winning 3 games, drawing twice with 1 loss in their last 5 outings while the Terras record reads 1 win, 2 draws and 3 losses so if it runs to current form Weymouth will have to be at their best if they are to return to Dorset with any points to show from this game.

In the Southern Premier League Dorchester host Beaconsfield Town at the Avenue Stadium, the Magpies sit in 17th place in the league with the Rams 4 places above them so it’s difficult to predict the outcome of this fixture.

In the Wessex League Portland United fresh from their 2-nil midweek win against Laverstock and Ford visit HMS Temeraire to play United Services Portsmouth while in the Southwest Premier League East Bridport host Cullompton Rangers at St. Mary’s.

In an early season game at the Avenue Stadium Dorchester Sports beat Balti Sports by 2 goals to 1. The Currymen ended up with only 10 players on the park after centre forward Derek Wall was dismissed for clashing with Dorchester keeper Nick Hutchins. The two clubs meet again on Saturday at the Weymouth College Sports ground with the match kicking off at 3 00pm.

In the local rugby Swanage & Wareham travel to Avonvale for a Tribute Southern Counties League game then on Sunday at Dorchester Rugby Club the Dorset & Wilts Under 20 County team play their Oxfordshire counterparts in the Jason Leonard RFU County Under 20 Championship. Dorchester have 2 players representing the club, 15. Dylan Walters Dorchester RFC and 16. Sam Lambourn Dorchester RFC.
