Yeovil 49 v Weymouth & Portland 17.

Weymouth and Portland were quickly brought back to reality on Saturday after brushing aside the challenge of Oakmeadians last week, but despite finishing the game with only 14 men on the park suffering injuries to key players after using up all their replacements it was far from all gloom and doom.

The Seasiders first team manager Vaughan Carter said: “The result is no way a fair reflection of the game, we just made too many mistakes mostly when we had possession of the ball when we squandered numerous scoring opportunities”.

“At some stages we looked like we had never played together before, Yeovil were more street wise than us, but that is about all, we matched then up front and in my opinion are a stronger outfit that at this time last season, we just have to work hard in training and eradicate silly mistakes from our game then we should be ok”.

However, at Monmouth Avenue the Seasiders second team ran out 53 points to nil victors against Swanage & Wareham Fourth team.
