The FA Cup raises its head on Saturday afternoon when Weymouth football club’s senior men’s team play hosts to fellow National League South club Bath City at the Bob Lucas Stadium in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup. 

The Romans are currently on top of the league table with a playing record of Played 10, Won 6, Drawn 3, Lost 1 with 21 league points while the Terras are in 18th place playing the same number of matches winning 3 times, drawing twice and loosing on 5 occasions with 11 points, so the Terras will have to produce probably their very best performance of the season so far if they are to go into the hat for next week’s draw. 

In the Southern Premier League Dorchester’s game at Gosport Borough has been re-scheduled for Wednesday the 11th of October as the Hampshire club have a FA Cup game on Saturday. 

Portland United host Bournemouth Poppies at Grove Corner in a Wessex League fixture and in the Southwest Peninsular League East Bridport entertain Bovey Tracey at St Mary’s. 

In the Dorset Premier League Dorchester Sports play visitors from over the Ridgeway Balti Sports at the Avenue Stadium. 

On Sunday Weymouth Women’s football team travel to the Terrace Playing Fields to lock horns with Shetborne Women in the second qualifying round of the Women’s FA Cup with the match kicking off at 2 00pm.

In the local rugby Tribute Southern Counties League Weymouth & Portland visit Corsham minus brothers Billy and Dan Hayne who are both unavailable, while prop Tim Comben is booked in for a scan on his injured bicep next week so he is also ruled out.
